Featuring @trevornoah our documentary will have its international premiere at the 2011 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. The film will officially screen in the IDFA Competition for First Appearance, competing for the Award for Best First Appearance as well as the Audience Award for the whole festival.
The IDFA is the world’s largest documentary film festival held annually since 1988 in Amsterdam. It is consistently ranked as Europe’s top documentary film festival and as one of the most important festivals for documentaries in the world, standing alongside other fests like Sundance, Toronto, and Hot Docs.
Past films that have screened at the IDFA include The Cove (Academy Award for Best Documentary 2010), Bowling for Columbine (Academy Award for Best Documentary 2003), Oscar nominee Burma VJ, Oscar nominee The Most Dangerous Man in America, Werner Herzog’s Little Dieter Needs to Fly, and Herzog’s current documentary Into the Abyss which will also screen at this year’s festival.
Acclaimed director Steve James (Hoop Dreams, Stevie) will present his Top 10 favorite documentaries at this year’s festival.
